Bacon and Sausage Platt
Excellent Hot or Cold.
This is one of Wendy's Recipes
Ingredients 12oz (360g) Shortcrust Pastry
8oz (240g) Sausage Meat
8oz (240g) Chopped Bacon
2 Cold, Hard-Boiled Eggs - Chopped
1 Onion Finely Chopped
Salt and Pepper to season.
1/2 teaspoon of Powdered Sage
1 beaten egg to glaze  

Equipment 1 Large Mixing Bowl  

Method 1. Preheat the oven to 220C (425F) gas Mark 7.
2. Roll the pastry into a 10 inch square on a work surface.
3. Mix the Sausage meat, Bacon, Chopped Eggs, Onion, Salt, Pepper and Sage in a Large Bowl.
4. Roll and Place the mixture down the centre of the pastry square.
5. Cut the side of the pastry obliquely in 1/2 inch strips.
6. Lift alternate strips over the roll to make a Platt. Tuck the end in to keep the filling in during cooking
7. Brush all over with the beaten egg.
8. Place on a baking sheet, put in the oven and cook for about 35 minutes, or until golden brown.  

The taste is delicious, however it can help produce a lot of wind.
