HEATHFIELD YOUTH SERVICE

Based in the Heathfield High St. next to the Co-Op at Heathfield Youth Centre and other locations, including Horam , Mayfield and Five Ashes Village Hall.

Last April the Youth Centre celebrated its 40th Anniversary with a week of events attracting many members and staff from past and present, raising money for local children's charities in the process. Last year was a very successful and popular year for the youth service with over 500 different young people coming along and becoming members at our nine different youth clubs. Over the year our members have performed in talent nights, dance shows, bopped at discos, tried sports of all kinds as well as going on many trips including; Laserquest, Chessington World of Adventures, Youthafloat Sailing Activity Weekend, visits to skate parks, expeditions to the South of France and other parts of the UK plus a Science Exchange Project to France and other parts of UK plus science exchange project to France to experience the recent Eclipse in full.

The Youth Centre is now fully accessible to disabled people and has recently obtained our own set of skate board ramps with money raised by our members as well as installing a top condition full-size snooker table.

All our clubs are now up and running for the school year with Monday nights now open to all Y.P. aged 11-25 and a new youth club in Mayfield on Friday nights from 7.30pm - 9.30pm in the Scout Hut (Please see our full club programme for details).

This term our members have elected club representatives and these young people are helping to plan and organise our activities for the year.

Each of our youth clubs offer something different, so come and check us out to see what we can offer you!
